Arrangements are being made for Online Classes through L.M.S. The Online classes are expected to be held from 25/08/2020.

The International Mother Language Day was celebrated today by a 56-member team from the Gyanprasarak Mandal College in Goa and students of St. Xavier College in a culture exchange program under the “एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत।” scheme at St. Xavier College Ranchi.

On this occasion, students of Jharkhand expressed their views on the importance of mother tongue, as well as students of Jharkhand presented compositions in regional language here and students from Goa in Konkani language. Principal Father Emmanuel Barla said that mother tongue has great importance in subsistence.

We should cherish our linguistic wealth at heart. The word 'Mente' in Spanish is used in the same way in Mundari, the tribal language of Jharkhand, as well as there are many words of foreign languages which are used in the same sense in the same form in the tribal language here. There is a plan to open a separate Jharkhandi language department at Sofia University in Japan.

The Head of the Department of Hindi, Dr. Kamal Kumar Bose said that Bangla is my mother tongue and the language of Hindi profession and I am indebted to Hindi. The mother tongue plays a very big role in the expansion of personality. Mother tongue is the dominant language of strong expression. The mother tongue is the language that fulfills all the languages. Dr. Sarika from Goa said that she has been living in Goa for 20 years and teaches English but loves her mother tongue Hindi. My mother tongue Hindi dissolves in my blood.

A food festival was organized today in a cultural exchange program under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Scheme. Jharkhand students made Jharkhand dishes Mahuwa Roti, Dhutu Roti, Dhuska, Futakal Saag, Chakod Saag, Plum Pickle, Dubki Litti Chokha etc. at Food Festival and students of Goa made Saqkarbhat, Mangne, Katakate, Chicken Sakuti, Akkad Tandool, Made dishes like Suntache, Omni, Bandi, Chowdi etc.

Press conference Xavier Festival 2020

Press conference was held for the annual festival - Xavier Festival 2020 to be held at St Xavier College Ranchi. In the conference, the cultural coordinator of the college, Dr. Kamal Kumar Bose, said that Xavier Utsav is scheduled to happen on 7th 8th and 9th February 2020. The college theme of this time is UMMED KI KIRAN (RAY OF HOPE).

Dr. Bose said Expansion is life never have tired legs and never lost courage there is a feeling that this journey is continuing in us to bring change. Two young IAS officers of 2017 batch Nitesh Kumar Singh (Jharkhand Rank 1, All India Rank 23), current Project Director ITDA Jamtara and Utkarsh Gupta (All India Rank 278) current Sub Divisional Officer, Bundu. as the Chief Guest at the inaugural function of Xavier Utsav.

Fest Coordinator Prof. Abhijeet Dey (H.O.D Dept. of B.B.A) said that Open Mic and Bad Singing have been included as well as all the old events will also be held this time. Blood donation camp will be organized under the joint aegis of National Service Scheme, Rotract Club and IPAC etc. DSW Dr. Markus Barla said that all preparations have been made regarding the discipline in Fest.

Annual Sports Meet 2020

The Annual Sports Meet-2020 of St Xavier’s College Ranchi was held on Ist February 2020 at college ground. Dr. Bind Kumar (IAS) Divisional Commissioner, South Chotanagpur, Ranchi was the Chief Guest for the inaugural function. Rev. Fr. Dr. Emmanuel Barla, s.j, Principal, introduced the Chief Guest and delivered the welcome address. The college authority arranged such an enthusiastic event as a part of co-curricular activities. The annual sports were held on the college ground in a befitting manner. The college campus was decorated with colourful flags and festoons. A beautiful gate was erected at the entrance of the compound.

At the end of the programme, the winners were awarded different attractive prizes. The chief guest of the function, distributed the prizes among the winners. The principal of the college thanked all for their participation in the annual sports ceremony and declared the end of the ceremony at 5 pm. All students, teachers, guardians, and invited guests enjoyed the sports-meet.

Independence Day Celebration

On August 15, 1947, India got her freedom and finally broke from the shackles of slavery. Our college celebrated this auspicious day with great enthusiasm and proudness on 15th August 2020. Every student contributed towards its preparations and the celebration began with marching by NCC cadets. For this programme, the chief guest hoisted the flag. All the staff members and students saluted towards the flag. Further, it was flourished by various traditional dance forms and skits. As the program was coming to an end the enthusiasm in the college remained the same. At last the principal delivered the speech. He further informed the students about the sacrifices made by our soldiers for the sake of our freedom and safety. At last, sweets were distributed among students and staff members.
