Aim & Objectives

There are vast opportunities exists in the field of Apparel Design/Product Design/Fashion Accessory Design and Marketing. One of the highest growing field and it’s generating vast employability scopes. This programme is oriented with high practical exposure either in lab environment or in external industry environment. This programme also provides the opportunity to develop as an entrepreneur in the field of fashion products manufacturing or marketing.

Higher scopes of avenues of the Fashion Technology Programme

In the further higher study you can opt for MBA or Post Gradate Diploma in Apparel Design/Product/Fashion Accessory Design & Management. You can also take admission in Fashion Marketing/Fashion Technology Programme of National Institute of Design (NID) or at National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). You have also the liberty to pursue your education in the other branches as per your likening i.e. International Business, Retail etc. This degree is valid for any competitive examination also. You are also eligible for CAT/XAT/MAT like management entrance examination.

Eligibility Requirement

Candidates having secured an aggregate of 50% in any stream from JAC/ICSE/CBSE or any other recognized board are eligible.

Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of the marks secured in the Entrance Test followed by Interview, to be notified on the college notice board/college website.

This programme is also recognized by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council. Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council assesses the students’ skills in following systems-

So students will get dual certificate as Graduation Certificates from Ranchi University and Skill Assessment Certificate from Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council. There are certain qualification packs designed by the Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council for the every Level of Assessment. Students are assess in according to these qualification packs for ascertain their subjects understanding with skill components factors like practical and industry orientation. In this programme 240 hours of practical is allotted in each semester for the developments of skill components within the students in according to the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
