Admission Process

The College is an autonomous college of Ranchi University. It offers Graduates and Post Graduate courses, ( B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./Vocational/M.A./M.Com/M.C.A courses ) under the autonomous system.

The UG/MCA course shall be of duration of three year (Six Semesters) and PG course shall be of duration of two year (Four Semesters).

An Online Application Form are invited every year for admission in diffrent courses.

St. Xavier’s college is affiliated to the Ranchi University. At the completion of the course, the Degree will be conferred by the Ranchi University. The selection of the candidates for admission to different Honours courses will be done on the basis of an Entrance Test in the subject in which the applicant is seeking Honours. A student may apply for more than one subject in case he/she is not sure to get in the subject she/he is applying.

Application can be submitted ONLINE only. Candidates may apply for more than one stream/ subject. The payment also is to be made separately for each stream or subject.

For admission into Honours degree in any subject it shall be necessary for a student to have obtained not less than 50% marks in the subject concerned and also 50% in aggregate in the Intermediate + 2 examination. Candidates are advised not to apply if they had no Business Maths/Maths in XI and XII.

For B.Com Account Honours , the applicant should have 45% in each subjects and aggregate 50% marks in 10+2 / Intermediate examination. Only Commerce and Science students can apply. Compulsory Subject for commerce students is 1. Accounts, 2. Business Studies//Commerce, 3. Economics. 4. Language Paper 5. Additional Any others (35%).For Science Students Aggregate. 50% marks required.

For admission into PG courses in any subject it shall be necessary for a student to have obtained not less than 50% marks in the subject concerned and also in aggregate in the graduate examination. The number of student for admission to these courses are fixed.

A student with compartmental or failed in one subject should not apply.
